LAME AT UPDATING!

I'm SO bad at updating...but then i have been SUPER busy recently!
School takes up my whole day and then I'm giving extra classes in the evening until 9.30...so in fact I don't lead a very exciting life! I'd like to take this moment to thank you girls for teaching the baby classes at E.S...you really have provided me with some great ideas for classes-especially on the song front! The clean version of A for apple aa a a a goes down a treat and the Days of the Week song is a WINNER!! THEY LOVE IT! So muxas gracias!
The kids are cute but they drive me mad especially when they decided to wet themselves or vomit in my class...never good! I also have to do lunch duty which is RANK as well! This involves making sure the kids eat all of their food and we have to force feed if necessary..so again lots of vomit. nice.
I have a stalker at school in the shape of an old, ginger music teacher. Why!????? why do i always get the weird ones! The even worse thing is that app. all the other teachers are in on the whole setting us up thing...so i am not very amused! My exciting story from yesterday involves a PUMPKIN! My boss bought some things for us to use in classes about Halloween...so in the middle of one of my classes the music teacher rocks up with a plastic pumpkin in his hands. So i'm like "ahh ok that must be from my boss, thanks" I threw it in my cupboard and didn't think anything else about it apart from HOW THE HELL AM I GOING TO INCORPORATE THIS INTO A LESSON! The next day one of the English teachers comes up to me and excitedly asks if i got the note! umm what note? the note in the pumpkin of course Nicola! ohhhh duhh silly me so i was meant to look in a plastic pumpkin, how obvious NOT!! She carried on by saying how much the Music teacher likes me and then muttered something about the youth of today not looking inside plastic pumpkins for love notes..blah..blah..blah..
This makes things slightly awkward now.
Last weekend I saw Laura from 3p and 4p this year was really good to see her, even outside of the bubble!! We went out, danced the night away and had a lot of fun. I also went on a day trip to Segovia (with some work collegues) which is a beautiful old town outside of Madrid. It's famous for its COCHINILLO which is suckling pig...it's a local delicacy apparently...although i didnt think that when a whole piece of pig complete with skin, tail and trotter rocked up on my plate! My friend fared much worse as she got the head, brain and ear which still had the plastic tag through it! YUK IT WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!
Am off to explore my barrio now so will no doubt have some exciting ghetto adventures to report on my next update!
LOTS OF LOVE XXXX

ONE WEEK...

I've been in Madrid for a week but it feels like months! This week's been a blur, lots of drinking, shopping, eating.....i've spent WAY too much money. Looks like this city is going to hurt my bank balance! Last night I went out for dinner with E.S claire from cerdanya and guess who else i met...kathleen (from 5p anyone remember her!??) I met a girl who worked at prades in 2005 and 2006 i think, anyway she knows the infamous bonilla familia...small world!!!
I started school today, the nuns are SOO CUTE!! I've just been doing induction stuff so I haven't met any of the lovely kids yet. I'm teaching primaria which is scary but we'll see how it goes :)My flat mate's working in Valencia at the moment, so it's just me and catty in the flat but i've just discovered the joys of gossip girl...and i've got a whole 2 box sets to get through...

Madrid!!

So, I've finally arrived in Madrid. My dream of living in Spain is now a reality....yikes!! I've moved in with my friend from uni and her cat-(called Catty-inventive!!) I thought of my E.S girls today...you know the ones that left me and princesa rachael alone in 4p 2008.....I saw the museo de jamon and i remember there's a photo on facebook somewhere of someone trying to eat a whole jamon.....YUMMMMMMMMMMM!! I went to my school for the first time today, it's super nice, quite posh and there are some nuns there so i'm going to be right at home!!! xxxxxxx

LAME!!!

so i'm lame! I haven't written anything about English Summer but i guess J.T has that covered. I wouldn't want to cramp her style or anything....but here are some of my personal highlights from the 2 months.

  • Meeting JT at Barca airport and suddenly remembering she had an american accent
  • Food poisoning??!!-(Not sure this is a highlight but...) Spending the day in hospital with Rachael and a violent drunk woman was FANASTIC!!
  • Finding out I had a brace buddy in Cerdanya...GEEKS ROCK!
  • "When i say ticher you say....ORGY....when i say ticher you say..... DOGGY" That night...Rachael saved me from Mr doggy dog- "Lets f like dogs" What a line.
  • Sharing a room (or cell block) with the 'gypsies' I miss it all...the craziness, the mess, Fran losing her key card everyday, the coke spraying everywhere, the disappearing camera, the poltergeist cleaners, Miss Todd sleeping, Miss Todd eating pelotazos.
  • Trying to row....unsuccessfully!!
  • "Can i do something BADDDDDDD???"
  • My dungeon room in the music school- complete with my own personal lift!! :)
  • Doing awesome dances..the oscar for the best dancers goes to....THE TEACHERS!!
  • Watching a certain moni dance in their underwear with only EYES to 'cover' themselves
  • The 1K flood....my class didn't want to stop working even when the water was round their ankles...dedication
  • Jilders stealing the 2k miss teacher award!
  • 3P Womanizer dance at hippy night....sooo random but such a good dance
  • Pool dancing in Prades, yes pool not pole!!
  • Chavvy day out in Salou with the ghetto crew and eating Mc Donalds
  • Having a ghetto iranian crew
  • The pool party....where there was NO WHITE DRESS CODE, NO POOL and to top it all off it was next to some trucker site.
  • 4P ticher monitor integration....
  • The name chants. S.D had a farm eee iii eee iii oooo and on that farm there was no alarm.......

Tuesday 16 June 2009

So I've taken a leaf out of Miss Todd's book (or should that be blog!) and I've decided to get blogging myself. I know i'm not going to be the next Anne Frank, but i'll give it a go!

I got traintracks last week and I look super geeky. So in honour of that, todays topic:
Braces HOT or NOT!!?

.NOT...
  • I don't care how many times people try to tell me that geek chic is 'in' at the moment, having a metal mouth is never cool.
  • The other day, someone asked me what school year I was in...now that's not uni school, that's school for 12-18 year olds! FML!
  • My braces are silver, wearing gold near my face is now not an option. What am I going to do without my cholas and gold bling? I wish i'd got teeth like DJ Talent... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQyZLehrIUw
  • Has anyone tried kissing with all this metal?-me neither! Last time I wore braces I was 14 at an all girls school so.....nope ;) I bet sparks would literally fly, metal grating on teeth..muy sexy!

HOT...

  • So it's not exactly hot, but i had to think of one positive thing. This brace nonsense could be the key to all weight loss diets! My calory intake must have fallen by half since I had these biatches fitted. Not only is it v. painful to eat, but most of the food remains trapped in the metal bits and never reaches the stomach!! SUCCESS! EATING WITHOUT CALORIES??? WOOOHOOO
